Quabble Community Guidelines
1. Our Mission
1.1. Quabble provides a safe, inclusive space for members to express their authentic selves, sharing feelings of loneliness, low self-confidence, anxiety, and other mental wellness challenges. We believe a supportive community can make a meaningful difference, allowing members to feel understood and encouraged.
1.2. Our mission is to foster an environment where everyone feels valued and heard, creating a culture of empathy, support, and positivity.
2. Core Values
2.1. Empathy: Understand and share the feelings of others.
Example: Before responding, consider the experiences shared by others. Rather than saying, “That’s not a big deal,” try: “I can imagine that must feel challenging for you.”
2.2. Respect: Treat all members with dignity and kindness, regardless of differences in perspective or experience.
Example: Avoid interrupting someone’s story with your own opinions or judgments. Instead, listen and respond with understanding.
2.3. Authenticity: Be genuine in your expressions and interactions.
Example: Share your true thoughts and experiences instead of posting what you think others want to hear. For instance, “I’m feeling a bit lost right now” can be more impactful than trying to stay positive if that doesn’t reflect how you feel.
2.4. Encouragement: Offer support and positivity to fellow members.
Example: Instead of simply “liking” a post, leave a comment of encouragement, such as, “You’ve got this! One step at a time.”
2.5. Privacy: Respect the confidentiality of shared experiences.
Example: If someone shares a personal story, keep it within the Quabble community and don’t share it elsewhere without permission.
3. What to Share
3.1. Personal Experiences and Feelings: Share your genuine feelings, experiences, and challenges related to loneliness, self-confidence, anxiety, etc.
3.2. Supportive Responses: Offer encouraging, positive, and constructive feedback to others.
3.3. Questions for Support: Ask for advice or support in a respectful and considerate manner.
3.4. Resources: Share helpful resources (e.g., articles, videos) that align with our mission, after verifying their credibility.
4. What Not to Share
4.1 Content Related to Harm
4.1.1. Self-Harm and Suicide Promotion: Do not glorify or promote self-harm or suicide. Instead, encourage seeking professional help and show empathy.
4.1.2. Substance Abuse Content: Do not discuss illegal substance use or promote substance abuse.
4.2 Hate Speech and Negative Content
4.2.1. Political Content: Avoid campaigning for or against specific groups within the community, especially in ways that target or alienate others.
4.2.2. Hate Speech: Refrain from using hate speech or promoting hate toward any group or individual based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other characteristic.
4.2.3. Negative Language: Avoid using language that is derogatory, discriminatory, or harmful.
4.2.4. Dismissive Comments: Do not belittle or dismiss the feelings or experiences of others.
4.2.5. Personal Attacks: Refrain from attacking or criticizing other members personally.
4.2.6. Graphic Content: Avoid sharing graphic violence, explicit sexual content, or descriptions of violent acts.
4.3 Content Beyond Community Focus
4.3.1. Sharing Personal Information: Do not share someone else’s personal information without their explicit consent.
4.3.2. Off-Topic Content: Stay focused on the community’s core themes, such as mental wellness, self-care, and support. Unrelated content should be kept to designated areas, if available.
4.3.3. Spam or Advertising: Do not post spam, advertisements, or promotional content. Keep contributions genuine and relevant.
4.3.4. Meaningless or Testing Text: Avoid posting meaningless or testing text such as “asdfasdf” or “testtest.”
5. Moderation and Reporting
5.1. AI Moderation: All that you write is encrypted so that humans developing and managing the Quabble system can’t see what you write. Instead, Quabble’s AI automatically moderates the community to ensure adherence to these guidelines. Content indicating self-harm or suicidal ideation may be removed, and resources for crisis services are provided. Quabble is not equipped for crisis intervention.
5.2. Reporting: If you see a violation of our policy, please report it using our reporting tools. We rely on members to help maintain a safe environment.
5.3. Feedback: We welcome feedback on our community policy and encourage members to contribute to its evolution.
6. Privacy and Responsibility
6.1. We respect the privacy of all members, but in situations involving potential harm, we prioritize safety. Users are responsible for seeking professional or emergency help in times of crisis.
7. Commitment to Improvement
7.1. Quabble is committed to continuously improving our community and policies to better serve our members.
7.2. This policy aims to create a positive, supportive environment for all Quabble community members. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to our values.
