Privacy Policy

Welcome to Quabble!

Quabble is the all-in-one mental wellness platform where you can regularly engage in mind workouts to maintain and strengthen your mental health. Like many of our users, we hope Quabble can help you manage your mental health and stay healthy!

Your privacy and security are our top priorities. Here's how we approach it, guided by these principles:

  • Everything we do is to provide a better Quabble experience. We collect and store data or user information only for this purpose. We never sell or misuse your data.

  • Anonymization. We work to separate your real identity from any personal information to minimize risks in the unlikely event of unauthorized access.

  • Encryption by default; strictly restricted human access to your content. All user-generated content is encrypted at rest. Base rule: no one at Quabble reads your private writing. Access to user content by Quabble personnel is the exception — it occurs only when specifically required to investigate a serious bug or safety issue, or through anonymized sampling, and only by a small named group of individuals who have signed a binding Data Access Agreement. When such access does occur, it is logged, audited, and limited to de-identified samples. See Limited Personnel Access below for details.

  • Automated AI-based moderation for community safety. To keep Bamboo Forest and other community spaces safe and supportive, we use AI-based automated moderation. AI scans community messages for safety concerns (such as self-harm risk or harassment) without involving humans in reading your private writing. In rare cases where a message is flagged for human review, it is fully anonymized first — any user-identifying information is removed before review.

With these principles in mind, here's how museLIVE Inc. ("we," "us," or simply "Quabble") safeguards, collects, and uses your personal information when you use our app and services. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at quabble@muse.live.

Information We May Collect or Store

We collect specific information to personalize and improve your experience with Quabble:

  • Username and Email Address. We use these to set up and manage your account, share important updates, and offer account-related services. We provide ways to opt out of email communications and delete your account whenever you choose.

  • Activity and Writing Data. When you use Quabble's features, like sending messages on the Bamboo Tree, we securely store encrypted data. This ensures you can log in from multiple devices, access your entries seamlessly, and communicate with others you choose to share your messages with. To protect your privacy, we anonymize and encrypt the data. Quabble personnel do not routinely read or access your private content. In the rare cases where elevated access is necessary (such as investigating a serious safety issue or a critical bug), only a small named group of individuals — each bound by a Data Access Agreement — may access de-identified samples, and every such access is logged. See Limited Personnel Access below.

  • Demographic Information. Only if you choose to share more about yourself through surveys, we use this data only for general analysis. It helps us better understand our user base and tailor our services to your needs.

  • Location. Only for users who opt in, we collect location information solely to sync the Park's weather and day/night settings, as well as automatic weather information insertion for your Mood Diary.

  • Device and Usage Data. We use overall statistical data to improve Quabble and troubleshoot issues. Individual usage data is only accessed when necessary to resolve specific problems.

  • Health and Wellness Data. Quabble collects health and wellness related data including mood diary entries, mental wellness check-in responses, anxiety exposure journey progress, and focus timer usage. This data is collected only when you actively use these features and is stored with encryption to protect your privacy.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Passwords. Quabble does not store or manage passwords. Our login system is integrated with trusted third-party providers, such as Google or Apple, which manage password security on their end.

  • Financial Information. All financial transactions (e.g., payment for subscriptions) are processed by third-party providers like Apple for iOS devices. Quabble does not collect, store, or access your financial details.

How We Use AI

Quabble uses artificial intelligence to deliver personalized mental-wellness experiences — for example, your weekly summary, automated community moderation, and certain mind workouts. Here is how we use AI, in plain terms:

  • Your data is not viewed by humans. No one at Quabble reads your private writing or AI interactions in identifiable form. The narrow exception is a small, random sample of development data, used strictly to test and improve the product, accessed only by named personnel under a binding Data Access Agreement (see Limited Personnel Access below).

  • Your data is processed by secure AI. Quabble uses AI only through enterprise-grade providers (currently Anthropic Claude via AWS Bedrock) under binding contracts that include a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) and zero data retention by the provider. Your prompts and the AI's responses are not stored by the AI provider for any purpose. We do not use consumer chat products (such as the public chat sites for Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini) with any user data, ever.

  • Aggregated, anonymized data improves our models for everyone. Quabble combines anonymized data from all users to train and improve the models that power our personalization. This means individual identifiers are removed and patterns are learned across the population, not from any single person. Better models mean better suggestions, smarter summaries, and more helpful experiences for every Quabble user.

  • All of the above is for your benefit — better, more personalized results. Quabble does not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use AI to profile you for any purpose unrelated to your mental wellness. Every AI capability we build is in service of delivering a better Quabble experience to you and to the community of Quabble users.

Rights of Users

  • Correction and Deletion. You can request corrections to inaccurate data or delete your account and associated data at any time.

  • Opt-Out Options. You can opt out of certain data collection activities, such as location tracking or email communications.

  • Access and Portability (EU and UK Users). If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or another region with similar data-protection laws, you have the right to request a copy of the personal data you have provided to us and that we process based on consent or contract. Because Quabble stores all user information securely in encrypted form to protect your privacy, such requests are handled manually by our privacy team. To begin the process, please contact quabble@muse.live and provide the email address associated with your account and your username so we can verify your identity. Once verified, we will prepare your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (JSON or CSV) and deliver it securely within 30 days, in accordance with GDPR requirements. Certain encrypted or anonymized records that cannot be linked back to you safely may be excluded. We will inform you of any such limitations in our response.

Use of Information

We use the information collected to:

  • Deliver Our Services. Enable core features like user interaction and personalized content based on app activities.

  • Improve Our Services for You. Analyze anonymous, aggregate data — such as feature usage, retention patterns, and anonymized behavior patterns across our user base — to continually refine and enhance the Quabble experience. This includes both product analytics and improving the AI models that power our personalized features. See How We Use AI for the specific rules and protections governing AI use.

  • Communicate with You. Notify you about your mental wellness management, updates, service changes, and important information about your account.

  • Health and Wellness Services. We use your health and wellness data to provide personalized mental wellness features, track your mood patterns, deliver focus timer functionality, and send reminders for your mental wellness management. We do not sell or share your health data with third parties for advertising purposes.

Sharing of Information

Your privacy matters to us. We don't sell, rent, or lease your personal information. When we share information, it's solely for service-related purposes, and we follow strict security protocols:

  • Thank-You Letters to Sponsors or Quabble. If you choose to write a thank-you letter for your Quabble scholarship sponsor, we will deliver it on your behalf. To protect your privacy, we remove any identifying information (such as your username) before sharing.

  • Service Analysis. We may share anonymized, aggregate usage data with analytics partners — for example, how many users engaged with Bamboo Tree today or how many users downloaded Quabble from a social media post — solely to better understand overall usage patterns and improve Quabble's services. When we do this, privacy is our top priority. All data is shared only in anonymous, aggregate form and is used strictly for this stated purpose. A current list of our analytics sub-processors is available on request at quabble@muse.live.

  • Third-Party AI Moderation Services. To keep our community safe and supportive, we use automated AI moderation. No human at Quabble can view your messages, and any message shared for moderation remains anonymous, so even in the unlikely event of a data leak, your identity stays protected.

Research Partnerships

We believe mental-wellness research benefits everyone, and Quabble's holistic data could meaningfully contribute to academic progress. From time to time, we may partner with universities or accredited research institutions to advance scientific understanding of mental wellness.

These partnerships are guided by strict rules:

  • Opt-in, study by study. No research partnership uses your data unless you specifically opt in to that study. Opting in to one study does not enroll you in any other.

  • IRB approval required. Every study using Quabble user data must be approved by the partner institution's Institutional Review Board (IRB). We do not share data before IRB approval is in hand.

  • De-identified, aggregated, or derived data only. Researchers never receive raw, identifiable content. Direct identifiers are stripped, indirect identifiers are bucketed, and outputs pass through a statistical privacy gate before delivery.

  • Right to withdraw. You can withdraw consent at any time. Within 10 business days, your data is removed from the active research pipeline. Aggregated or already-published statistics that no longer can be linked to you may remain.

  • Public registry. Active research partnerships are listed publicly at quabble.app, including the partner institution, IRB approval number, what data is shared, what is excluded, and how to withdraw.

We never share data with for-profit AI companies, advertisers, or data brokers under the label of "research."

Limited Personnel Access

No one at Quabble routinely reads your private content. Access to user data is the exception, not the rule.

In the rare situations where elevated access is necessary — for example, investigating a serious safety issue, debugging a critical problem, or sampling data to improve a specific product feature — a small, named group of Quabble personnel (typically 2 to 3 individuals) may access de-identified samples of user data. This access is structured to protect your privacy:

  • Named individuals only. Not "the engineering team" generally. Specific people, by name.

  • De-identified samples only. Personnel never see your raw content with identifying information attached.

  • Only when needed. Access is occasional and purpose-driven, not ongoing or browsing.

  • Signed Data Access Agreement. Each named individual signs a binding contract committing to specific permitted uses, prohibited uses (including a ban on re-identification attempts), confidentiality, and personal liability for misuse.

  • Audited and reviewed. Access happens inside a secure, audit-logged environment with multi-factor authentication. The list of authorized personnel is reviewed quarterly. Access is revoked within 24 hours of role change or departure.

International Users and Cross-Border Data Transfer

Quabble is operated from the United States, and user data is stored in secure data centers located in Oregon, USA (Amazon Web Services). If you use Quabble from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

  • European Union and United Kingdom users. Quabble self-certifies under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and the UK Extension), which provides a legal basis for transferring personal data from the EU/UK to the United States.

  • Korean users. Korean law (PIPA) treats mental-wellness data as sensitive personal information. We disclose our use of US-based storage and obtain your specific consent to cross-border transfer at signup, separate from your acceptance of these Terms.

  • Other regions. Where Standard Contractual Clauses or local-law adequacy mechanisms are required, we use them in addition to your consent.

If you have questions about how your data is handled given your location, contact quabble@muse.live.

Special Terms for Children and California Residents

Children's Privacy and Teens

Quabble is not intended for children under the age of 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

Users between 13 and 17 may use Quabble. We encourage parents and guardians to review this Privacy Policy with their teens. For users under 18, certain features such as the Bamboo Forest community are subject to additional safety controls (including AI-based content moderation and anonymization) and may require parental awareness over time. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about your teen's use of Quabble, contact quabble@muse.live.

California Residents' Rights

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"). You can:

  • Know what categories of personal information we collect, the sources of that information, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.

  • Access the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

  • Delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.

  • Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Quabble does not sell or share your personal information.

  • Limit the use and disclosure of your Sensitive Personal Information. Mental-health and wellness data is treated as Sensitive Personal Information under CPRA. Quabble uses this data only to provide the services you have signed up for and does not use it for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose. You can confirm this at any time by contacting quabble@muse.live.

  • Non-discrimination. You will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights.
